3. Fights against the buying and selling of living beings

When buying a dog in a pet store or from a breeder, you contribute to the breeding, legal or not, of animals, and in most cases this is done in poor conditions for poor dogs.

Breeders do not care that females are giving birth throughout their lives, unwillingly, and often go hungry, cold, suffer serious illnesses and mistreatment of all kinds. When you think about buying a dog, remember all this and do not support the abuse.

6. You will always be protected

A dog at home helps your children to be responsible, as they must also take care of the dog. Dogs that are abandoned on the street and protected in shelters are usually cross-breeds (we can also find dogs of race), so they are specimens of unique appearance and well-defined personalities, some different from others.

My boyfriend is practically the dog whisperer. He found this poor dog which has apparently been living in the woods across the street from us. He named him Roscoe. He got Roscoe from hiding when he brought food to letting him pet him and Roscoe whining when he comes. So we got ready as we already have a mastiff rottie mix at home to keep them separated untill.Roscoe can be vet checked and we make sure he isn't someone's lost dog. We don't think he is. Only snag was when my boyfriend tried to put a collar on Roscoe. He nipped at the collar. Otherwise he's a very good/gentle dog. My boyfriend was concerned about this but I think it's just a stray thing. Could it be? We've fallen head over heels in love with this fur baby and bonus. Roscoe has gained weight with the dry food and treats and could be the healthiest stray ever! But we want him home.

Hi April,

Adopting a stray dog is one of the kindest things you can do for our canine friends. Sounds like you have a lot of it in hand, but going to the vet is the most important thing. They will run a chip check in case they are a lost dog (unfortunately many are carelessly abandoned). You will also need to be careful with any dog that they are properly socialized. Many have also experienced trauma which means they can have behavioral problems. You should start educating them right away. Along with all the love you already seem to be giving, this is the best for their welfare. Nipping at the collar is common for adult dogs if they have never worn one before. They should get used to it with time.
